Książański Park Krajobrazowy
The Książański Landscape Park.
It covers 31,55 km². It's a landscape park, established in 1981.
Pełcznica River is a tributary of the Strzegomka River and it creates an important element of Książański Landscape Park. Currently the water from Pełcznica varies from I to III grade purity. The river is heavily polluted with sludge from sedimentation tanks and flotation coal coking at Walbrzych mines. The area is covered by the Directive of European Council No. 92/43/EWG.
The area covers the valleys of two rivers: Pełcznica and Szczawnik and forests and undergrounds of Ksiaz Castle which is wintering site for 3 spices of bats mentioned in an annex II of this Directive - Barbastella bat, Bechstein's bat and greater mouse-eared bat.
